CHRISTMAS KITSCH.

Posted by on

On the one hand, I just love this time of year, seeing the excitement on kids’ faces when they see (another) Santa ‘ho-ho-ho-ing’, and anticipation of ‘the big day’. Seriously, I really love it. But surely there has to be a limit to all the Christmas paraphernalia. It’s one thing to put a red ribbon in your daughter’s hair; and all together another thing to spend big bucks on a festive season handbag.

But apparently, there are no limits. I just had to share this with you, because my jaw seriously dropped when I saw these bags.

There must be a massive market for these because they’re from Mary Frances. In case you haven’t heard of them, some background… Mary Frances herself grew up being influenced by the vibrant spirit of the San Francisco Bay Area. For over two decades she has taken her vision and passion for fashion design and forged them into an international venture using artistic influences from around the globe.

Mary Frances has twice been named as one of America's fastest-growing, privately-owned companies by INC Magazine. Mary Frances has also received the Accessory Designer of the Year award at the Dallas Fashion Awards; was acknowledged as "star of the show" during Paris fashion week for two consecutive years, and received the prestigious Best Design award in Milan for her 2013 and 2014 collections. Some serious credentials, I’m sure you’ll agree.

And here are some of their Christmas handbags.

Would you drop around $350 for one of these?

So perhaps I’m missing something? Maybe I should produce shiny red and green hangers at Christmas time (then again, maybe not).
